Watching this really makes me hate that I’m basically stuck with Dunkin’ Donuts:

Like you, around here , you can’t walk five feet without stumbling on a Dunkin’.
Krispy Kreme (based in North Carolina, I believe) made a dent here back in the 90s. The newspaper ran a h Aldine Krispy Kreme would put Dunkin out of business. Didn’t exactly work out that way.

Even better than both of them, in Pennsylvania is a small chain called Curry Donuts. They put Dunkin to shame.

Sprinkles are okay. Jelly is okay. Glazed are okay. But given the choice, I’ll take Boston Cream or Toadted Coconut.

Sadly the closest Krispy Kreme I have to me is up in CT at Mohegan Sun. A friend of mine brought donuts from that place over to another friend’s house in RI, I tried a glazed donut and..... oh my goodness. It was like heaven in my mouth. 😳

I have thought of going down to Mohegan at some point just as an excuse to get some donuts (but I can also make the best of it as well with some gambling) cause there have been plenty of donuts there I have wanted to try.

The thing I hate about Dunkin’ Donuts is how easy it is to go to a location where the donuts have pretty much just been sitting on the shelves all day and you can just taste how close they are to getting stale. Not only that, but they really sit in your stomach like a rock.

I’m not the biggest fan of jelly donuts but I do love regular glazed donuts (not big on chocolate glazed much). Has a nice basic taste which is still enjoyable (with a bottle of milk to wash it down).

As a kid I used to hate Boston cream (the vanilla flavor didn’t bother me but just seeing how it looked on the inside kind of looked nasty.... and even as an adult it still looks kinda questionable), but as I’ve gotten older, it’s now been one of my go to donuts.

I know of a place called Duck Donuts.

It's so sad to think of all of those poor, innocent, little ducks that go into making doughnuts.

As far as sundaes go, hot fudge over black raspberry ice cream.
You don’t have to go crazy with toppings. Sometimes less is more.
I’ve seen kids at the frozen yogurt place throwing on everything plus the kitchen sink

Although my favorite Ice cream topping, on top of hot fudge and whipped cream, is this stuff called cake crunch.

In the end I don’t mind toppings as long as I can still taste the actual ice cream itself.

For a sundae, yeah, I'll get toppings, but just for a regular cone, nah.

Although I used to like Marble Slab's dipped cones, and yes, I usually went with the sprinkled one, sometimes the one dipped in chocolate and toffee.

But, alas, Marble Slab is another one of those chains that abandoned ship in my town.

We never had Marble Slab, but a place probably identical called Cold Stone Creamery.
