Saturday night my dad came out the blue and told me that I have to start looking for a house to get him, my mom, my sister and myself out of the apartment we're living in by the time I'm finished with school.

:sigh: Seriously, I'm NOT responsible for finding a home for these people, only for MYSELF. The narcissism gets worse as the years go by. Yet you wonder why I'm not much of a social person. Been educating myself on narcissism since October 2019 by reading articles and watching videos from different psychologists which helps a ton.

Sometimes I wish I was born in a different family. Before anyone says that I'm being "ungrateful" or "selfish" or whatever have you, try dealing with someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

No I get that. I mean from what you’ve described your folks really have a stubbornness in the both of them.

At the end of the day, if they’re looking to find a new place to live in then that’s something THEY need to do for themselves.

Truth be told though, it does remind me of why I felt frustrated with my parents with this whole house selling ****. They were basically just desperate to get out of New England because of how cold it was. And because I didn’t want to move in with them, I was pretty much forced to find a place of my own. And here’s the thing, I wasn’t ready to move out, I didn’t feel like I had my future planned out yet. I could have honestly done this **** on my own had they just decided to suck it up for a couple more years and I could have saved up money and found my own place. But nah. Here I am now. 🤷🏿‍♂️ This is why I honestly held a grudge against them for a good while when this was going on.

And the thing too is I basically have two choices that are just going to continue making me feel grouchy.

Continue living in this toxic apartment with noise disruptions everywhere, or move in with my parents in North Carolina and just feel like “why am I even here?” It’s a lose-lose situation either way, and it’s why half the time these days I just feel like a combination of Oscar and Bert, even if I may not always show it.

Something like that is not your responsibility.
1) Even if you can find a place, chances are slim to none any bank will grant a mortgage to a college kid.
Chances are good, at your age, you probably don’t have much credit, much income. Any bank or real estate office would be talking to your parents, not you. They’d be the one to sign the papers.
That’s insane for them to put that burden on you.

I will actually be honest on something, I cut ties with a cousin of mine on my dad’s side.

The truth is we had the worst relationship when we were kids which I honestly blame on my uncle and aunt’s parenting and the fact that the two of them often got into so many heated arguments, that and he’s just got way too many issues going on in his life and an incredibly nasty temper. I unfriended him on Facebook and have no intentions of ever seeing him in person again.

Frankly he’s not even blood related to begin with and far as I’m concerned, we were never cousins.

When I meant that I'm going to be distance from them for a while, I'm going NO CONTACT and see them at their grave. Even the therapist recommends going no contact because people with NPD are just SO damaged there's NOTHING you can do for them.
