"On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy,"
his rep, JoAnn Geffen, said in a statement given to The Hollywood Reporter. "David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years."

Free from pain. How can you not feel good for him for that?

He had the coolest shag haircut, and back during the show's original run, my sister had all the Partridge Family albums, and played them til the grooves wore out.

Little three-year-old me used to watch him, thinking he was so cool, thinking "That will be ME someday"! Only difference was, he sold millions of records and had chicks screaming at him...and I didn't!(Well, maybe one or two). But I had the look down pat.

Thank you David, for those groovy velvet pants, and " Summer Days".
Come on, get happy? You made that possible for me.
