It's definitely an interesting concept. Given the time this was written, my guess is Rob Schneider would've been the grumpy boss guy, but I think i'd much prefer it being Sam the Eagle. That is, unless Sam had some other role in the script.
It would've been interesting to see this get made instead of MFS because, judging by Janice's line, Richard Hunt's characters would've had more to do in it. I wonder who might have played them.

Also I thought Muppets in Space was written by Jerry Julile, which was suppose to be his final work with the Muppets.

I like to make sure that whenever I post something on here have bave some facts to back it up with.
According to Wikipedia it was Kirt Thatcher that wrote Muppets IN Space. The plot was that Kermit was adducited by Ailians and the rest of the Muppets went to Outer Space to rescue him.
Then there was also the draft that was written by Joey Manzzino witch had a lot of parodies in it. They where going to pardoy a lot of Sci fi movies like Alians and others. This script was green light and almost ready to shoot when Henson was unhappy with the director and they had to pick someone else. According to Manzzino the new director Tim Hill was a nice guy, but wanted to take out all of the parordies. So that ladies and gentlemen is how we got Muppets FROME Space instead.
