Or maybe copyright holders are just greedy and want WAAAAYYY too much to license out their property, or maybe some of them are GASP outright refusing to let Disney use their property. As copyright holders, they do have a right to refuse their stuff from being used.

I still think we haven't gotten Season 4-5 yet is because of celebrity estates like John Denver & Tony Randall and also music right holders for Macho Man & Stayin Alive.

I just got a new copy of season 2, Instead of how the old ones come in the nice box, the new one comes in a cheaply made plastic case, which was broken when I received it, The rewards paper is replaced with a newer version and the discs come like the new Disney DVDs where it has a light gray cover with The Muppet Show and Disc (number) on them. I am very disappointed in the quality of the rerelease.
Edit: It still has 4 discs, have not checked the trailers and have not looked to see if the ommited material is back as I just got it in the mail today.

They don't have to worry about Stayin' Alive. That was performed in Season 3.

I don't know if this idea has been stated before but I do believe it's because of the Christopher Reeves episode due to the heavy mentions of superman (Especially in Miss Piggy's dressing room)

Not sure which one you're referring to but I'll do both i guess.
For the first one, since all the trailers and captions are the same as well as the special features it wouldn't be unlikely that they're just reprints of the first season 2 release with different labels and a new box (Which is plastic unlike the nice cardboard box the first release had).

For the second one it's just a theory, seeing as Marvel is owned by Disney, and DC is still trying (And failing) at building they're own line of movies leading up to a big crossover movie, just like Marvel did. There are a lot of other ideas as to why season 4 and 5 still hasn't come out, but I'm just putting this one out there.

That's 19 & counting estates so far.

Also on a side note: Music right holders Disney way also have to deal, and I think the Chris Langham episode may be cut due to his child pornography arrest.
