Guys look at us, fighting and being selfish, when Kermit has done so much for us. We should be ashamed of ourselves. (VMX, 2002)
So the modern public doesn't appreciate the muppets, so what, the muppets are not doing so hot at the box office, so, it still has weekend 2 to look forward to. I don't want to hear any more pessemistic comments about MMW unless it gets a 40% or more drop in weekend two, myself included. It could have been so much worst. I mean it beat MFS in its opening weekend. Look the bottom line is we've got new muppet material and we can all talk about it. If the film flops terribly than it flops, there's nothing we can do about it, clearly the public likes snowmen who take their heads off more than characters who actually do something. Bottom line is, this may be the last muppet movie ever made, this may be the last of the short-lived muppet renaissance, we may see Disney ship the muppets to another company or put them on the shelves to collect dust, but, and this is for everyone on this forum, what would Jim do? Jim never gave up! You know how long it took for the muppets to get on tv, you know how many times the dark crystal was thought of as stupid, you know how many times people thought no one would watch the muppets? But, here we are now, the muppets are watched and the dark crystal and labryinht are cult classics and they're even thinking of making sequels. Did Jim fret when GMC made over $30 million less than TMM. If Jim let this one misfire torment him everyday of his life then there would be no muppets, no sesame street, heck Jim would've stopped using Kermit as a spokesperson because of that one heckler, there would be no forum, I literally wouldn't be typing this. So whenever the muppets backfire take a moment to think. What would Jim do?
