Wow. And Billy the Exterminator's gotten arrested for drug possession before and didn't get into this much trouble (same with his wife Mary, and earlier his brother Ricky).

An old religious redneck hunting enthusiast that hates gays and says something stupid and crazy.

What's that old saying? Dog bites man is not news or something like that?

This is what happens when people start quoting the Bible people get upset. This is a sad time for this country. The man was basically quoting the Bible and got fired. If Christians had a voice this country would be a lot better off.

He also said that he did not hate gays he just said that it was a sin. He said that he loved people, and would share Jesus with them and let the Lord show them there ways.

And it once again comes down to "it's in the Bible, so it's true no matter how it contradicts itself and Christians are the victims."

There are those who actually believe that because they have been told they're required to. That's something that can't be helped. It's a footnote that also says we can't wear polycotton blends and eat shrimp, and not every Christian believes or cares what that killjoy Leviticus said. Some of us try to adhere to the 10 commandments, and it says nothing about homosexuality. Also, Jesus never said anything about it. It's something mentioned in passing for historical content, and things were much different than they were 200+ years ago. There was no homosexuality for love... heck, there wasn't even that much straight sex for love either. There really wasn't anything to do back then but get drunk, bonk everything in sight and wait to die. Religiously speaking, there are religions where you can't even watch cartoon pigs because they were apparently filthier than humans back then before the advent of regular bathing and food inspection.

Still, to act like this is a huge surprise is ridiculous. As long as he's not donating money to anti-gay causes like the Chick-Fil-a jerk.

Above all, the only reason he was fired was because of the threat of boycott. Boycotts are a form of free speech as well... but frankly this is a show that people watch to make fun of how rural the cast is. I mean, they're probably in on the joke, but they're essentially being laughed at by people watching ironically.

You can't be on TV and make stupid comments like this. It doesn't matter that it's "free speech", when you're a public figure you can't make comments like this. Keep your beliefs to yourself in this case.

Same goes for some of the things mentioned in the Koran, like forcing women to cover head to toe in public no matter what. In fact, many Muslim countries were once a lot more liberal until around the '50s when some dictators took the word of this guy who interpreted the Koran in a very cult-like way (he was regarded as a kook in his own time in the same way as the Westboro Baptist nutjobs are today) and pretty much turned the Middle East into the dark ages.

It even includes destroying sacred artifacts near Mecca (including Mohammed's birthplace) all because it's supposedly idolatry.

You can make comments, just realize that there might be consequences. That's the problem with America nowadays. People want to protest and take a stand on something, but then we're all too spoiled to deal with the aftermath, lol.

In any case, I am a little tired of people being fired by some greedy TV network who is terrified of losing ratings. In some countries, you can still be arrested for the crime of speaking. In America, you lose your job, lol. Because of course, the only important thing in this country is making money.

Firing him had ZERO to do with gay rights or tolerance. And everything to do with preserving A&E's cash cow.

Do I like what the guy said? No. But censoring him isn't the answer. That is not tolerance.

The problem is that people have changed God's word to fit there own lifestyles. There are so many different versions of the Bible that people don't take it as the Holy Word of God. Written through man by God. Jesus main mission on this earth was lost souls. To seek and to save that which was lost. He did not come to this earth to preach issues. He came to die and raise from the dead for our sins. The Bible has a clear outline of what sins are, and if people don't like that then it is between them and God.
