Fireworks is really just a vectoring program though. It's not really good for image altering like with what you can do in GIMP.

Personally I find paint.net and gimp to be clunky and icky. I use Microsoft Image editor. It's a condensed photoshop basically bu I can make some really good looking things with it.

GIMP I've tried, yes... it's odd in that it looks simple and easy to understand, but it's like certain things you expect to work in a certain way work in an entirely different way... it's almost like trying to learn how to convert to the metric system (if you're an American, that is).

But Fireworks, I disagree - I haven't done just a whole lot of vectoring or pixel art (I've done M*A*S*H smileys years ago, but that's besides the point), but almost everything I do is through Fireworks, and as far as image altering goes, it gets the job done very well. If you mean certain effects like, say, curving a row of text or something like that, no, it doesn't do that, but you can easily make a picture look almost completely different if you play around with lighting, contrast, hue, saturation, sharpness, blur, among other tools. Like most of my crap on dA, almost all of the backgrounds are manipulated somehow to better suit the picture.

My experience with Fireworks was mostly learning how to animate with it and make vectors. We didn't really learn about photomanipulation.

Flash can actually produce decent animation as opposed to the lifeless and dull animation it's known for. I've never tried it though, same with Fireworks.

WHY do we need a biopic about Anthony Weiner?

And what's with this whole disturbing trend of somebody is thrusted into the public eye because of some kind of scandal or some kind of crime, and they automatically are the subject of biopics?

Is everybody trying to pretend that BEE MOVIE doesn't exist at all? Because Oprah is in the upcoming new movie THE BUTLER, and everybody's calling it her "First movie role in fifteen years", but, she was in BEE MOVIE, she was the voice of the judge, which was six years ago. It's almost kind of like when THE MUPPETS (2011) came out, everybody tried to pretend the TV movies didn't exist.

Maybe no one's counting Bee Movie because since it was animated, a lot of the lazy entertainment press don't think that appearance "counts".

20 years ago Amy Fisher was the Flavor of the Month. For a few months, you couldn't turn on the tv without seeing/hearing/reading about her fling with Joey Buttafuoco (is this the best you can do?), and attempted murder of Buttafuoco's wife. After serving a short time in prison, she gets to parlay her notoriety into a book deal,
hosts "World's Dumbest" for a while, and winds up a porn star.

And for a while the media couldn't get enough of her. She got her biopic, too.
