Another problem with most of these spoof movies is that the plot constantly gets sidetracked by gags and references. I admit to kinda liking Superhero Movie (not produced by Seltzerburger, BTW) because at least there it attempts to tell an actual story while spoofing the superhero genre at the same time.
On the other hand, it's not like Super Hero spoofs aren't common. There's more spoof heroes than serious ones now. Coming from someone who dreamed of having a hip indie comic Super Hero parody, that's saying something. I swear that Megamind found the last angle of smart Super Hero parodies. Do it from the villain's perspective and make it all a big romanticized game to him.

And that's why everyone vilifies CGI animation.

(seriously... people be all complainin' about Brave being disappointing, and a movie about Turkeys that don't want to be eaten comes out...)

I call Chicken Run ripoff.

Yes, Free Birds does sound like a Chicken Run ripoff, and I doubt it could do the story better than Nick Park.

So, why the H:eek:LL is the new Great Gatsby in 3D? Why does a drama need to be 3D? It has a solid cast and is an adaptation of one of my all-time fav books, but now I'll have to pay the extra $10 or so for the 3D:grr:. Baz Luhrmann doesn't have the greatest record (Moulin Rouge, Australia, Romeo+Juliet, all terrible:mad:), so if it stinks he deserves all the blame. I have a feeling this may be the straw that broke the camel's back when it comes to studios overdoing the 3D gimmick.

3-D is only really good for cartoons. Somehow, it makes real live action shot film look fuzzy and dark. Even if they shoot it in 3-D. it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't charge so much for it, and shove it into irrelevant movies. Marvel action hero movies, fine. Great Gadsby, not so much (though it looks like they're going the big and flashy scenery route).

Still, couldn't be less excited about that film. Yet another literary classic they ruin for you in High School. I hate how they test you on books, and especially since it's always based on the teacher's interpretation of the book.

Am I the only one here who saw Dredd 3D? GREATEST 3D EVER OF ANYTHING EVER IN THE UNIVERSE:eek: !!! It's the only movie I've ever seen in 3D where I actually noticed the 3D. I'm usually like you, Tooth; I don't like 3D in live action films, it almost never looks good, but again, the 3D in Dredd 3D blew me away. The movie itself is very bright looking, so maybe that has something to do with the great quality of the 3D:confused:.

Anyone who saw Moulin Rouge shouldn't be surprised that Luhrmann would make his Gadsby film in 3D. I'm not a fan of the 3D, but it seems appropriate for this movie.

I don't like Luhrmann as a director, and after finding out he was directing GG just yesterday, I have to say I have major doubts and reservations about the film. Luhrmann does good romance films, but I never saw GG as a romance; sure, people have relationships, but they're purely superficial. And again, I don't believe dramas need to be 3D.

I don't really like to make blanket regulations for what needs to be shot in what format, but I guess we all have our preferences. It actually looks good pulpy melodramatic take on the classic tale to me. I'm interested to see how it fares with the public. Looks expensive.

When it comes to Moulin Rouge, I have to agree with Miss Piggy...

"Would Everyone stop singing different songs? I can't remember what I was singing!"

Still, zero wish to see this film.
