So based on the information they've given us, I assume that this "52 11-minute episodes" mean we're going to get 26 half-hour episodes to start off this series?

It's an international market thing. The US didn't have the 11 minute programming block until [adult swim] and shows like Harvey Birdman and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Now it's starting to become normal-ish... at least on CN, and they show the 11 minute shows in half hour blocks usually. But 11 minute or less concept is nothing special or different in various other countries. Unfortunately, I don't have many examples of programs (Alfred Hedgehog, maybe) that are like that. There are some animes that are at weird lengths in Japan (and I can't even name one).

GIVE US SOMETHING NEW ALREADY, BAGDASARIANS!!!
I seriously love this whole going back to 1999 style single disk DVD's with 3-4 episodes for 20 bucks thing that the entertainment industry is doing. People buy box sets and season by season collections. You get more for your money, and newer shows with tighter continuity work better on DVD anyway. These Chipmunks releases are strictly for preschoolers who still watch the live action films.

I understand there's no way we'd ever get a complete series set of the 80's show due to the musical rights being impossible to clear. But at this point, can't they at least release the "Go to the Movies" DVD's as a collection? I'm sure they released most of them on DVD at this point. And where the heck is The Alvin Show? I'd rather see that old classic than the 80's series get a complete collection anyway, if only for the Clyde Crashcup cartoons.

Seriously, for a company that goes nuts at every single youtube upload, they haven't given any good alternatives.

Y'know, as quick as Bagdasarian Productions is to sue various different people, companies, studios, parties, etc, I'm surprised they never slapped David Cross with a defamation lawsuit for comparing Janice Karman to Hitler.

But then again, if that was the case, I would have been sued by Google years ago.

Because, unlike Megan Fox, he wasn't near Steven Spielberg at the time.

Yeah, you know what? Like I said, unless they can come out with a more substantial release (if we can't get season sets, then how about something similar to the ALVINNN!!! Edition?), I'm not forking over any more money for miniscule compilations like these: I bought the ALVINNN!!! Edition, the holiday sets, and the first Chipettes compilation release, but naw... re-releasing the exact same compilation sets over and over and over again, and maybe adding an additional extra segment or two really ain't sweetening the deal.

Funny thing, though, is that when you think about it, with all of the various different compilation and holiday sets that have been released, a vast majority of the episodes have been released, regardless of song replacements or not:

Actually, I'm really shocked about finding something out:

"The Incredible Shrinking Dave' (which I haven't seen in years) includes an Irving Berlin song... which was left intact on DVD! I'm really shocked, considering how notorious Berlin's estate is when it comes to the use of his songs in certain materials.
