That moronic new Eurosynthpop song from some no-namer, the one used by Bing commercials. For some ungodly reason the station I usually listen to, which is HARD rock, has been playing it in heavy roatation. Not only is it musically bland as Wonderbread, but a listen at the lyrics convinced me this guy is a total loser. "Ah, honey, I'm such a commitment-phobe that I'll feel better about myself if we break up, but ya know I still love you" kind of crap. Really? This is MUSIC?

It's impossible not to.

What's worse?

All these returning shows in the fall are going to reference that song (Glee, obviously) and they're going to be dated when they do so.
You called it.

Songs I can't stand? Wow, there are always a lot of songs we listen to. To be honest, I cannot standf any current songs that make me go crazy. Ugh! I love all kinds of music except current songs that not from my favorite artists. Seriously!

I naturally love music, but there's one song I absolutely HATE with my life! Gangham Style! It tries too hard to be the Macarena of my generation. This was the point where I lost all hope in current music. I'm going to be REALLY MAD if it's the Song of the Year.

I didn't need to call it. That's what Glee does. It takes whatever song possible and ruins it. The show is going to fad fast, believe you me.

Listen... Gangam style was never meant to be a world wide musical hit. It was supposed to be an internet meme. If anything, it's the musical equivalent of the "The Man your Man could Smell like" and it got too popular in the mainstream (months after being funny). Macarana for the next generation? No. The song is a deliberate joke. It was intended as one from its inception. It got popular through the internetz because weird stuff makes the internet. Weird stuff and porn, but let's not go there. Personally, I'm surprised the meme spread to the mainstream that fast. It took them over a year to get "Rick Roll" and put it into the Macy's parade...

Made awesome ONLY by the inclusion of the Fosters characters. Heck, Family Guy didn't do Trollolo until 3 years after everyone stopped caring. That's what the mainstream media does when something happens on teh internetz.

So to repeat, it was never meant to be a pop hit classic. It's a meme ruined by the mainstream. And frankly, it's no where near as bad as half the crap calling itself pop in this country.
