RIP Gerry Anderson, creator of many UK Puppet TV series, including Thunderbirds and live action Space 1999.

I'm active in the Gerry Anderson replica making scene, and for us this is like losing Jim Henson. At least he didn't suffer with Alzheimers for too long. RIP.

Even though I haven't watched any episodes of Thunderbirds, Gerry will always be a legend of puppetry, just like Jim Henson.

And the thing is that there is a connection with both the Muppets and Thunderbirds in that Sir Lew Grade gave the finacial backing of both these shows.
