Your Thoughts: MCR Upgrades May 28-29

Muppet Central Radio is back on the air. Thanks for your patience during the upgrade. I will continue to tweak some things throughout the day.

The purpose of the maintenance upgrade was to provide enhanced sound quality for both regular and VIP listeners. Live365 regular listeners will notice an improvement in sound quality as every track is now in stereo. Live365 VIP members (who listen with the VIP player) will in addition notice a 50% jump in quality as the ad-free VIP stream has been upgraded from mp3 to mp3PRO.

Both streams are at 32k so everyone will be able to hear an improvement no matter how you listen, however, VIP members will experience the largest audible enhancements. My hope is that Live365 will make mp3PRO the standard for both versions of the stream, however, for the time being they are just making it available with the VIP player. In addition to the latest sound improvements, there is a lot of new music in our Muppet Central Radio rotation. We've added new music from Sesame Street season 35, more classic Sesame animation, guest star celebrity appearances and more. Also be listening for a great new group called The Dead Hensons. They sing Muppet and Sesame music parodies and are a welcome addition to Muppet Central Radio. We now have over 1500 songs in our current rotation with new music being added all the time.

The Dead Hensons?

The Dead Hensons are a Berkeley-Oakland-San Francisco based band that perform Henson-Sesame covers. They also do live shows in the California area. You can find out more about them and download some of their tunes here...

What's really cool is that they perform covers of not only the popular songs like Mahna Mahna, Movin' Right Along and Rainbow Connection but they also do classics like Exit, Pinball Number Count and Between.
