Gerry Parkes, the actor behind Doc, died over 24 hours before you created a topic. Someone else created a topic right around the time his death was announced. This topic can be found here.

Others have already addressed the main question. As for deleting posts, moderators/staff members have always had that power at their discretion when needed.
