Why has the Muppet theater changed so much?

Is the Muppet theatre from the Muppets Movie suppose to be the same Theater from the Muppet Show?

I am curious if it is, or why it looks so different now. Does it give an explanation in the movie?

No, there's no explanation. I don't specifically know this, I figure it's just because the new movie is being made so long after TMS has ended and since they had a budget to build a nice, big, fleshed out set for this movie, well, they expanded a bit. Yeah? That's what I figured at least. I know it is a bit different than the original, but it honestly didn't bother me too much.

Yeah.. when has Kermit ever had an office before?
His office was at Muppet Studios, not the theater. You could say that the studio wasn't built until after the show ended (assuming the Muppets still made movies and specials after the show ended in this continuity).
