Why does practically everybody feel that the Sesame Street franchise is best that it remains owned by Sesame Workshop?

Way back when Disney bought the Muppets, somebody on this forum worried about the Sesame Street franchise being sold, and everybody here on this forum to this day bets that Disney wouldn't preserve the good quality of Sesame Street if they bought the rights to it. But somebody mentioned that neither would Paramount, who owns Nickelodeon. And with broadcast of Sesame Street having also been done by HBO, which is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, as well as old episodes of Sesame Street on HBO Max, I asked if Warner Bros. Discovery would ruin the franchise and somebody here believes yes. All in all, why is the franchise (including the rights to long out of print Sesame Street books and the newer Sesame Street Tough Topics book series) best left owned by the nonprofit Sesame Workshop and not purchased by ANY for-profit company, even if the for-profit company is very reputable?
