What was it about that year for being an incredible year for movies? i was born that year and my parents and big brother saw alot of stuff on the big screen.

I mean so many derned good movies that came out like Blade Runner (my fave movie), E.T., The Thing, Poltergeist, Star Trek II, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Tron, First Blood, The Dark Crystal, The Last Unicorn, The Secret of NIMH and more.

The 80s in general had some amazing movies that cant be replicated today. Dark Crystal remains one of the best examples, I honestly cant think of a more creative and visually stunning film. Most modern movies are full of CGI, but Henson, Froud, and their team built the world of the Dark Crystal.
