Does anybody think that Disney should have a special week for the muppets on one of it's television stations, like Disney Channel or ABC family? What would you want to see done on such a week?
I have thought of two things. One could be a muppet movie each night. If it is from monday to friday, and in the winter, then Disney could air all five disney-owned muppet movies (TMM, GMC, MCC, MTI, & MWoO). Then again, I think Disney can air one of the movies not owned by Disney. The Muppets Take Manhattan and Muppets From Space have both been shown on The Disney Channel, and all theatrically-released muppet movies have been shown on The Disney Channel back when Disney didn't own the muppets.
Another suggestion would be to have three hours of The Muppet Show in five nights. Maybe each night could represent a different season. Disney should have done this during the week that the first season was on DVD, either during a week long marathon or a weekend marathon. It could have promoted The Muppet Show: Season 1, but since the DVD was being released, they could have focused more on episodes from other seasons, and only showed first season episodes that had to be edited.
Perhaps a week could be like this:
Monday: Juliet prowse, Rita Morino, Bruce Forsythe, Paul Williams, valerie harper, and Ethel Merman.
Tuesday: Steve Martin, George Burns, jaye p. morgan, madeline kahn, Bernedette peters, and Cleo Lane.
Wednesday: Kris Kristofferson & Rita Cooledge, Alice Cooper, Raquel Welch, Harry Belefonte, Leslie Uggums, and Leo Sayer.
Thursday: John Denver, Arlo Gutherie, Star Wars cast, Kenny Rogers, Crystal Gayle, and Phyllys George.
Friday: Brooke Shields, mac davis, Wally Boag, Shirly bassey, Joan Baez, and gene kelley.
If Disney wanted to celebrate the muppets during the weekened as well, they could have a four-hour marathon of Muppet babies on saturday and sunday morning, two episodes of Little Muppet Monsters on both mornings, a muppet special (The Muppets Go Hollywood on Saturday, The frog Prince on Sunday), a muppet movie (the muppet movie on saturday, the muppets wizard of oz on sunday), a break from the muppets during the programing schedule, and then, in prime time, a two-hour marathon of Muppets Tonight on saturday, and a two-hour marathon of The Jim Henson Hour Muppetelevision segments on Sunday.
