Weird Kitty Kartoon

This is probably very obscure, but does anyone remember a
cartoon in which a little girl has lost her cat and a cat
appears on a truck, then among flowers (with flower eyes)
and maybe in other places, before the real cat (probably)
comes back? Or something like that? I think I saw this in
1986/1987. Did I miss anything - and what was the point?
I'm trying to get the stuff that spooked me on the show
when I was small clarified.
