Any of you guys on here from the UK done any formal training for puppeteering??
I was checking out:
http://www.londonschoolofpuppetry.com/php/interviews.php
but course is two long....(I work full time)
and
http://www.emerson.org.uk/fulltimecourses/puppets.htm
and also
http://www.horseandbamboo.org/frame1.html
but I am tempted to go on a week long course that teaches TV puppetry with The Button Moon - of the TV show fame (waiting for a price, probably many £'s!) ideally I could do with some foundation training, did you guys self teach or get a kind of apprenticeship under a working puppeteer/studio? I'm more into learning for theatre stuff at first than a TV show style with monitors etc did any of you guys get in contact with local theatres etc what do you do now? build only for fun/profit/shows/TV...This thread is more for the other UK based viewers but I'd be interested in what the rest of you get up to as well!

Try contacting the British Puppet & Model Theatre Guild as well. They have a web site at www.puppetguild.org.uk which includes a section for classified ads I think.
