STYLE: LATE 4TH SEASON (CIRCA ANDY WILLIAMS EP)

Cold Opening

Scooter: Perry Como? Perry Como? 15 seconds to curtain, Perry!
Perry: Thank you, Scooter. Oh, by the way, thank you for the coffee machine.
Scooter (cautiously): Um... you’re welcome, but I hope you didn’t drink any.
Perry: Nah, all I did was smell it, and trust me, that was enough; it was WAY too strong!
Scooter: And there’s a very good reason for that; it’s not coffee at all!
Perry: Well then, what WAS it? (Cut to an Arab Muppet in the corner, clutching his stomach)
Arab: I was hoping it was oil, but I expected coffee!

Opening Theme

Gonzo: blows trumpet, moths fly out

Opening Number: Perry sings "Catch A Falling Star"

Backstage: A runaway (Whatnot) prisoner named Charlie Monroe approaches Kermit and tells him the police are after Charlie and he needs someplace to be on the lam for a while. Naturally, Kermit is hesitant, but ultimately gives in.

Muppet Labs: Anti-Burn Toast. Bunsen puts a piece of toast in a small oven and turns the heat all the way up. The oven catches on fire, and Beaker extinguishes it, but the nozzle flips towards Beaker and blows foam in his face. Once he gets up, he retrieves the toast from the charred oven to find it just the way it was.

Backstage: Charlie looks over Kermit’s show plans for the following week and says to himself "Oh, if only he had ME working for him! I could give him ideas that would make him millions!" Although, unknown to Charlie, Kermit heard the whole thing.

Song: Perry sings "When You’re Smiling"

UK Skit: Electric Mayhem sings "Love Her Madly"

Dressing Room: Kermit tells Perry what he overheard Charlie say and asks Perry to help him. Perry says he knows just what to do.

Muppet Sports: Carousel Racing

Backstage: Perry finds Charlie and says "Kermit tells me you’re starting to be trouble around here. How’d you like to be my chauffeur?" Charlie replies "Just as long as it pays good and nobody recognizes me!"

Closing Number: Perry sings "Papa Loves Mambo"

Did you know he worked The Muppets at least twice? They did a Christmas Special of his (The King and Featherstone puppets were running a hotel and Perry tried checking in. King: "Don't bang the bell! You can ring the bell, touch the bell, even tinkle the bell BUT DO'T BANG THE BELL!"-Running verbal gag.). One other Specia "Julie (Andrews) on Sesame Street with Special Guest Star Perry Como" with a "fake" street set and all the characters staying up late!

Excellent Brian. My favourite part is Muppet Labs Anti burn toast.
That was hilarious.

Wow, I love Perry Como! Good choice! It was still a bit short on skits, and there should have been some other muppets singing with Perry. Wait, now that I think of it, Miss Piggy wasn't in it at all! That being said, I'm looking forward to the next one!

I don't get why Kermit would harbor a fugitive in the first place.

Cold opening punchline needs a tweak. I take it the Arab drank the oil expecting coffee. Perhaps something like "It's not the pain I mind, it's the fact I send the java to the refinery." Or maybe he holds up an oil can and says "How about a refill?", or "One lump or two?"

Do you always open with the guest star? A non-guest star opening number would add to the number of sketches.
