Hey, hey, hey! It's time for the letter of the new thread-the letter "I". I've remembered many of the memories that are sponsored by the letter I. Mine were...
1) Grover's "I Stand Up Straight And Tall" song (it's also available on the album, "Sesame Street Sings the Alphabet")
2) "We all live in a capital 'I' in the middle of the desert in the center of the sky."-it's one of my favorite SS MP3s I like to listen to any Friday or Saturday afternoon before I go out.
3) The noo-nee-noo-nee-noo typewriter guy: i-ink: I never saw it, but the script is available on the SS lyric archive. It starts where the typewriter is out of ink, so he puts it in his body and types, "I, ink!" Then,...I think the ink would flood all over the screen.
4) Animated segment: a boy sings the alphabet up to I until a dog thinks the I is a bone
5) Animated segment: the "I" Interview-remember this one when I try to give you a clue for my game for a few weeks ago.
6) Animated segment: the "I" Song-the lyrics are NOT complete, but I remember seeing it as a little kid where the man rides on the "beep-beep!" car. Andrea Sunderland, Sailor Hart and Jen Finlayson worked so hard by transcribing this animated "I" segment for the SS lyric archive.
7) Animated segment: "I...ink!" very short cartoon with a bird and inkwell
8) Animated segment: "I...ice cream" with a boy with strawberry ice cream on his face and says, "Strawberry! My favorite kind!"
9) Harvey Kneeslapper's "Would you like me to keep an eye on your hat" trick where he put the large capital 'I' on Fat Blue's hat
10) Animated segment: similar to the D, M, N, and T versions in which I never saw it: "As I think of ice, I think of the letter I!"
11) Animated segment: similar to the E and R versions I saw on 123 where lasers form into the capital I and then a small i as Luis's voice says it as beautiful cello music plays off-screen
12) Monsterpiece Theatre: The King And I (with Grover and a small i)
13) Letters In Sand-I
14) A live segment/song (which is similar to the R, V and 12 versions) about the letter I as i's float around
15) Animated sheep form the capital I and a small i
16) I-island (a short cartoon)
17) I-iron (a short cartoon)
18) The nightmare from a couple of years ago (which it's never shown on the show) where a capital I is drawn on the left as the kids' voices off-screen calls, "I!" Then, a small insect creates a small i as they call, "I!" I think that it's kind of scary.
19) the SCARIEST "I" sketch I saw as a little kid was the live-action film where the red-hot letter I in steel shape is being made. The beginning is so scary, because of the large block of steel, then it begins to bright up and it later turns into an I. Afterwards, the screen freezes to show us the I until this is over. It also plays scary trumpet and piano music off-screen.
Anybody remember the other "I" memories?
