Hey everyone! Two things today:
1. I'm bored
2. I can't get the song "Turn Your Buttons Down" (Toenail, won't fail) out of my head.

So here's the deal. Why not put a few of our heads together and come up with the history of the Poobahs? A sort of folklore experiment, if you will. The song sung by the Poobahs contains the verse:

Uffafluff and Oopidad were walking by the sea.
"Uffafluff," said Oopidad, "will no one marry me?"
"Oopidad," said Uffafluff, "I wouldn't care to say."
Then Uffafluff and Oopidad continued on their way.

The rest of the song is more of a silly singing poem, but the above four lines appear to be the beginning, or at least a portion, of a larger story.

So who were Uffafluff and Oopidad? Anyone care to discuss?

I think it is just a silly fairy tale, like the stories in Alice and Wonderland are to us...
I never really thought of the poobahs as an old order, just more of a new sort of club that became a fad, but might be based on a few old fraggle stories. After all, they did say it was a 'silly' order

I don't know why but I always pictured Uffafluff and Oopidad as two adorable puppies being walked one day near the beach, briefly exchanges sniffs and then being forced to continue on. Lol

Next time you see a dog being walked down the street, try thinking of that song, it's actually quite humorous, lol.
