Hey hey everyone! First lemme' tell you how freakin' much I missed you guys!!!! No MC for two weeks!?!?! That sucked, but then to deal with what I've had to made it worse!
*Penguin comes out and starts playing violin*
Knock it off, it wasn't that bad! Anyway, so as you know (thanks to my buddy Ric ) I was in a flood here at my apartment. It's happened before here, but not as bad as last year when we lost our brand new 2003 Chevy Malibu to a flood, but this year's flood was still pretty bad. Bad enough to back up the sewer lines all over the place. My wife and I thought it was in our best interest to stay somewhere less hazardous, so we held up in a hotel for a while.
But then something even worse happened!
*Penguin plays faster and in a scary key*
I said cut that out! As I was saying, my wife started complaining about stomach pains. Long story short, she had her appendix removed. A small and standard procedure, but painful none the less. We were discharged from the hospital this morning and I finally got her to sleep after a healthy dose of some pain meds, but it has been one heckuva' two weeks. I'm pretty drained, and tomorrow am returning to work (ugh) so I'm not looking forward to that either.
It hasn't been completely horrible though. Despite my absence, I've been promoted with a very sizeable increase in pay, so that's very exciting. I'm doing the same stuff I do now, just now I'll be recognized for it! My official title now reads "Publications Specialist" which is odd, because mainly I design posters and illustrations in general and leave the publications for the other designer (that'd be good ol' Ric!) but hey, I'm not arguin'!
Well, I missed you all and can't wait to catch up with all that's happened here (and from what Beau has told me in a recent e-mail, it's a LOT!!!) so super-duper major hugs to ALL of you and thanks for your prayers.
