The Laugh Track

I was just watching the Muppets 30th special, I noticed that they used the laugh track constatly. They played the laugh track during "Turn The World Around" when Harry said "I know who you are, I know who I am." You have to have good ears. One Muppet laughed during "Being Green" when the scenery comes down. They laugh at Kermit's face on the Muppet Show record. Can anybody tell me why they used the laugh track during this. Oh, my copy also has episode #3171 of Sesame Street.

Okay, they must have edited that in the special. I have the DVDs of those episodes and there's no laugh track. And they must of laughed at Kermit on the record beacause he was doing his frustrated/confused face.

Which version of Bein Green do you have? I don't recall Kermit making his shriveled up face (Unless I misunderstood you. You were talking about Bein Green, right?) I'm not sure why they added laughs to those segments, maybe just to remind the sudience that there was an audience in the show (although that sounds pretty dumb. )
