Does anyone else remember the Alphabet Dancer skits they used to show back in the day. They had a few kids, (sometimes coached by Big Bird) making different letters by laying down on the ground. Maria was the one to do the voiceover in these. Eventually in 1992 these skits were retired, probably because a lot of them had an outdated looking Big Bird (from the 70's) So instead they would show some kids and Maria's voice would ask "Who wants to make a T!?" and the kids would shout "me!" and they would then float up in the air and make the letter. Personally I prefer the original Alphabet dancers, 1992 seems to be the year they really started their out with the old, in with the new way of thinking. JMO

BB wasn't in any of them. However there were some later shape segments with BB helping them and Olivia annoucing.
I might prefer the original Alphabet Dancers than this later version where they weren't dancing at all but they're prettyy good as well including the music that went with it.

The new "Who wants to make a ___?" clips feel fake to me because the kids don't really do anything to make the letter/shape that Maria names. Considering the way Sesame Street is preaching about physical fitness now, I'm surprised the producers haven't filmed new clips that combined the old dancers' actions with up-to-date music.

P.S. Not all the "dancer" or "Who Wants to Make..." clips taught letters; a few taught simple geometric shapes. I've seen kids making squares, rectangles and triangles in both versions...and ONE kid's picture swept around a circle to "make" the shape.
