Here's another outline for the fictional series "Sesame Street 2.0", aimed at the older fans.
Scene 1
Oscar walks around Sesame Street, outside of his trash can. He laments that Bruno was busy and couldn't carry his trash can, so Oscar had to walk like this. Maria points out that he hadn't walked with his traveling can in a long time, so Oscar gives it a try, walking with his legs out of his trash can.
Inserts:
Scene 2
Everybody watches as Oscar walks all over Sesame Street in his traveling can. He accidentally walks into Bruno, and tells him he's no longer needed, so Oscar fires Bruno. Bruno starts sniffing.
Inserts:
Scene 3
Maria, Gina, and Gordon all try to cheer Bruno up, then remember that he's still in charge of taking their garbage and driving the garbage truck, even if he no longer carries Oscar's trash can.
Inserts:
Scene 4
Oscar's legs are now very tired, and he still has some errands to do. He decides to rehire Bruno, but when he calls, he doesn't get an answer.
Inserts:
Scene 5
Oscar lays in his trash can in darkness (if this were broadcast we'd see his eyes in the dark), but then he hears his trash can moving. He opens the lid, and sees that Bruno had lifted the trash can. Oscar tells Bruno that he's hired again but Oscar isn't apologizing, and that he has a lot of errands to do... Oscar then notices the garbage truck and asks Bruno if he was going to dump Oscar into the truck. After Bruno sheepishly nods, Oscar tells him that he did the right thing in hiring him back.
