Something that bugs me about Dinosaurs...

I know this is a weird place to come from, but this clicked on me last night when I was rewatching some of the first box set....

None of the characters wear pants, Baby's diaper not included. This would suggest that there aren't any pants around, and leading to the conclusion they don't exist.

However, they do make refferences to "pants" all the time. For example, Earl after eating the Happy plant realizes he doesn't wear pants.

So, if they don't exist, how can they know of them?

they make them wear pants in the one episode I remember and Earl hates it he gets really mad about it.

I remember it, that was the one where he tried to complain about the use of Smoo and other bad language on TV, but since everybody had a complaint as well, EVERYTHING got censored, which was rather amusing ("Every woman named Sue will from this moment on be called, "Millie.")

There was a collection of Dinosaurs toys released back in 1992, and the B.P. Richfield toy wore pants. Of course, the character does wear suspenders, so perhaps he needed a reason for wearing them.

Maybe pants are fancy clothes to Dinosaurs like neckties and dresses are to humans. I guess Mr. Richfield wears pants because he's a boss.

While the B.P. Richfield toy wore pants, I have once seen a Dinosaur comic strip in an issue of Disney Adventures which showed B.P. Richfield's legs, and he didn't wear pants in that comic. I forget the comic story and plot, and I don't know the magazine's date or volume, but the cover had Tim Allen and Pete. I also remember that tis comic was part one of a two-part story, and that the plot invovled Robbie and Spike. Has anybody seen this?

I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that it's widely accepted to not wear pants, due to the fact it is uncomfortable for their tails. That's what I was guessing.

Personally what would bug me a little about Dinosaurs is when some of the Dinosaurs would start singing songs in todays world. Like I believe Baby Sinclair sang "Born to be wild" (my friend has been borrowing my Dinosaurs DVDs, which I really need to get back from him). But it always kind of bugged me, but thankfully not to the point where I couldn't enjoy the show.
