My mom's being stubborn! Ever since the whole situation awhile back, my mom has been trying to "change" herself. There are some details I can't get into, but she's basically beating herself up emotionally and keeps trying to make herself "more appealing". I keep trying to tell her what their therapist told her: she's not the one with problems, it's my dad who has problems. But she's just being stubborn. I keep trying to tell her she shouldn't have to do this, but she just won't listen and keeps insisting that she NEEDS to do this. I don't know what to do anymore, will someone help me please?

Muffin Monster, just try your best to be there for her and listen when she needs to talk. I don't know what else to tell you, I just hope it gets better.

I know it's frustrating when you feel you can't help someone you care about. Just remember that by being there for her and listening to her does help a lot.

Snowthy hang in there mate.:sympathy: Put the matter in God's hands. You may like to talk confidentially to your pastor about your worries and pray with him. I shall pray for you and think about you and your family as I read the Bible.

I have learned to always trust God in my own personal problems and worries even if nothing seems to work out. God loves me and also you and your parents enough to send His Son to redeem us from our sins. I pray and rely upon God to bless us all on our way to Heaven no matter how bumpy the way through our own fault or the consequences of others.

So don't give up your faith Snowthy. Try to read a bit of the Bible every day and keep on praying as I'm gonna be praying for you.

Hi Snowthy! I hope things are going a little better for you and your family.
My first bit of advice would be to attempt to sit down with your mother, and tell her exactly what is bothering you and why. If that doesn't work, (and I know from experience how dificult it can be), then you might try talking to her therapist, if you're not already. Ask him/her how you can make peace with your parents, and if you can't, how you can cope on your own. I'm only saying this because I too am having some problems with my mother, and I have learned the hard way that some problems are unreconsileable. Hopefully this is not the case with you though!

Good luck,
Kate
