Today was the first time I've bowled since my dad passed away in late July. Now bear in mind that this is a handicapped club that I bowl for,and I know that some of the members are more handicapped than others. That's all fine & dandy. But there's this one woman who (not unlike her mother) never knows when to shut her yap! (I can't stand either one) But during bowling today, she says to me,"I'm going on a cruise with my mother & father in December." (You've all read my posts about how much I loved the last cruise I was on several months ago, right? Well, our next cruise was scheduled for next month, but since my dad passed away,we had to cancel it.) As soon as this little you know what mentioned the cruise she's going on with her parents, I got upset!  You'd have thought she'd know better than to mention that. OK...granted she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I just thought she'd have more common sense! My dad LOVED cruises & now he's gone!
PS. Even before my dad died,he knew how much I hated this woman

Ah, another woman with the unfortunate (and technically fictional) Blithers Disease. My aunt Dianne has this. It causes the jaw to be permanently propped open and the voice box to keep in shape. Unfortunately, she seems to not only talk a lot, but show insensitivity towards you. Jerk.

Hope things get a lot better for you, Kathy.

I'm sorry that happened Kathy! Some people are just so insensitive! Try not to let it get you down and just remember, you are bigger than she is and a better person than she is too.

Try not to let her get to you. She may not even realise how insensitive she's being. Just try and enjoy your games.

Now if it were me, I would have put her in her place. Or I would have just said shut up to her. Or I could of hit her with the bowling ball....(kidding..maybe)

I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, and that certain people don't know when to close their mouths and think before they talk. I know what you're going through. Both of my grandmothers died within eight months of each other. It's hard to have to deal with people like that when they know what has been going on. I hope things get better for you!

I wouldn't let it bother you too much. We've all said something stupid at sometime in our lives that once it crossed our lips we wished we could take it back. :embarrassed: I'm sure she didn't intentionally be insensitive.

Hope things are looking up for you and hang in there.
