Hey guys,

I have recently heard a song on Muppet Central Radio, presumably by Little Jerry and the Monotones, or some variation, in which some really hairy guy finally gets his hair cut off, little by little. The barber is played by Frank, doing a great high-pitched voice, going "Snippity-snip!" over and over, again, hilariously. I vaguely remembered it from my childhood, at this, and would like to hear it more, as well as learn more of the context of the original skit, like the setting and how all of the characters looked, as well as the lyrics, which I could not find, even at that big SS lyric archive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, and take care.

Was wondering when someone would bring up the topic of this sketch! Been meaning to talk to BlueAM about it since he usually helps me out with unnamed or sketch-specific Anything Muppets for the Listing.

Lyrics: Sorry, don't remember them.
Characters: Not Little Jerry and the Monotones, but another group of three or four singing AM's.
Character Descripts: Sorry, but you guys know I myself need help with that.
Plot: The lead singer, who has rully hairy head of hair, comes to the barber to get his hair cut. The barber keeps cutting hair saying snipety-snip, cutting off all the hair. You know how when a barber cuts your hair it falls to the ground in little piles around the chair? Well, with this barber the clipped hair kept falling to the wayside offscreen around the other AM's. In the end, there's this big mound of cut hair burying the other AM's, and the guy who got his hair cut asks where are his friends, and the barber says he'll help by cutting the hair again and starts up with his "snipety-snip".
Hope this helps and have a good night.

I figured I could help you out, old chap.

I don't really know what the characters looked like, but I'll give it a shot.

The lead singer, I believe, was green with HUGE brown hair that covered his eyes, and he had an orange nose. I think he had a turtleneck sweater on, but I could be wrong.

The barber, I believe, was lavender with black hair, a thin black moustache, a triangle-shaped green nose (I think), and a barber get-up.

I think there were three back-up singers. Methinks they were blue, green, and purple, with long hair that covered their eyes, and dressed the same as the lead singer.

Maybe you could list them as "Lead Singer", "Barber", and "Back-up Singers" or something like that.

Let me know, kid.

Thanks for your help, and have a good night.

Ah BlueAM, how are you old bean? I say I say!
Well, if you've got any more infor to bushwhack out any more AM's, then I suggest you put in a pint over at the ML 10.0 thread.
As for the characters from this sketch/song, I'll wait until I see/hear it again before asking for more concrete help with its blokes.
Have a smasher on the house.

The song "Long Time No See" is from the 1994 album "Cheep Thrills". The credits are listed as a "A Barber with a Long-Haired Anything Muppet".

All I really remember from this sketch is that it freaked me out a little. I would think, "how awful to have all that hair, and not be able to see anything." I was glad when it got cut, but then I'd get weirded out by all that hair.

I remember there was a funny Muppet Show skit that was similar to this one. A guy completely covered with hair goes into a barber shop and asks for a haircut. The barber starts cutting while Waldorf and Statler starts making jokes in between. When the barber was finished, there was hair all over the place and the guy turned out to be a tiny little speck. The barber was about to charge him until he sneezed and blew the little speck away. Every time I think of that skit, I laugh so much. Imagine, a guy covered with hair coming into a barber shop when he's actually a little guy underneath?!
