I just saw a TV trailer for the fourth Shrek movie, and apparently that changed the name "Shrek Forever After" to "Shrek: The Final Chapter." This was apparently an abrupt change, since I've started to see merchandise with "Forever after" on it.

I have to say, I'm GLAD they've decided to end the series... originally they planned on making several more sequels after the second or third one (they threatened us with 6 at least), and other than the fact we're getting that Puss in Boots spinoff (that will not compare in my mind to the fantastic 1960's Toei animation film "Wonderful World of Puss in Boots") it seems that they know that this character is getting tired and predictable. The new movie seems to be a knockoff of "It's a Wonderful Life." And I really think Dreamworks has come around and made actual decent CGI animated films lately... Kung Fu panda and Monsters Vs Aliens seemed to be leagues ahead of their usual stuff... still didn't see Dragons yet, though.

I hadn't even heard of "Shrek Forever After", I thought it was supposed to be called "Shrek Goes Fourth".

I'd be interested in seeing Puss's spinoff movie, but I know a few who think it might flop if Puss doesn't have Donkey to play off of... come to think of it, it seems like none of them can hold something on their own without donkey... but didn't they give Donkey his own made-for-DVD movie here recently?

That's exactly what I thought.

I didn't like any of their non-Shrek movies, except for Bee Movie, but then again, that movie in particular seems hit-or-miss... I think you have to be a fan of Jerry Seinfeld and appreciate his sense of humor to appreciate that movie... and I STILL say Reese Witherspoon's character in Monsters Vs. Aliens looks like Mirage from The Incredibles, 'cept with more meat on her bones.

I haven't seen the dragon movie yet either (might today, it actually looks good)... but is THIS where another name change has taken place? Because originally it was supposed to be "How to Train Your Dragon", now all of these trailers and promos say it's just "Dragons", but merchandise and Happy Meal toys and such still say "How to Train Your Dragon".

Shrek Goes Fourth was the working title when they panned on making 6 or 7 of them. Yeah... like I was really looking forward to "Shrek Pleads the Fifth" and "Shrek pays Six Percent Sales Tax."

Ehhh... I don;t think they did. Personally, I would NOT want to pay any more money to see Puss and Donkey's caustic relationship for another 50 minutes of a 90 minute movie. I think the half the third movie where they were in each other's bodies whining about each other was one of the things that ruined the film for me. Of course it played better when i saw it on TV. I think Puss can hold a film on his own. Again, Toei seemed to think so back when they had MULTIPLE Puss in Boots movies (I've seen 2 of them)...
