Ironically, a similar disappearing abruptly moment also happened in the "W for Wand" segment in which Gordon makes himself disappear abruptly - which, strangely enough, I had no problem with since, in this case, it was a magician's act and I knew what to expect. The aforementioned Kermit and same/different balls segment did not involve a magic act.

I also learned on Muppet Wiki that the Kermit "same/different" sketch with two balls was the last segment in the "Kermit's Lectures" series before Jim Henson's death. There would be one more lecture segment in the late 1990s with Steve Whitmire voicing Kermit.
