In the summer of 1994 I used Prodigy to go on the internet. That was the first time I was ever online like that, and all I recall is looking up info on the Pink Panther, Atari games, reading about that night's episode of Dinosaurs ("Driving Miss Ethyl") on a TVGuide type page, and then reading and later posting on a Dinosaurs message board after the last episode aired, which I had no idea was coming.

And one more thing: They had all these Sesame Street stories that were animated a little bit with sound...the main one I recall is Grover dressed as Indiana Jones, and he swung by on a vine.

Anyone remember these? :search: I can't find any info on them, or archives, or pictures, anywhere. I really remember loving it, anyway. It would be cool to put them on a DVD or something. But I won't hold my breath!

Well...

I see no one here (even ones who may have had Prodigy for a couple weeks trial thing such as I) remembers it, but I promise I didn't make it up!

Thanks for the message. It would be cool to talk about it with someone who remembers it, and I figured this would be the only place that could ever happen. But I definitely understand if no one else ever saw it, that's for sure! Prodigy ended in 1999 I read. I didn't have it after that summer of 1994, so I wonder if the Sesame Street pages were still there for the next five years...:search:

By the way, I remember one story where Grover was dressed like Indiana Jones, and when you first load the story, the title page had him swinging on a vine across the screen, complete with sound effect (and that'd repeat until you clicked to the next page). This was mind blowing at that time, mind you

Okay, I know that this topic is old (by several years), but I just came across it and I'm just glad to see that someone else besides me remembers these Sesame Street stories. One that I will always remember was called "Lights Out" and it featured Bert and Ernie. The story began with Bert looking for his stocking cap because he couldn't go to bed without it. So, he and Ernie went down to the basement to look for it. (I know Bert and Ernie DO live in the basement, but in many storybooks, they're not always accurate with the show with that bit of detail) The basement as you would expect it to be was completely dark, so the only way they got around looking for the stocking cap was with a flashlight. However, one of them (I believe Ernie) would think he sees some kind of animal or object silhouetted in the dark, and then we see what it REALLY is once he shines his flashlight on it.

Here's what I remember them seeing -

Teapot on a small four-legged stepping stool (Elephant)
Tall table with a lamp or else a plant on one end and, I think, a ball in the center (Camel)
Rope on the floor (Snake)
Baby carriage (Poodle)
Coffee table with a beach ball and a suitcase on it (Spider)
Long chest of drawers with a lamp on one end (Cow)
Round table with a cloth over it and a bowl of fruits in the center (Gorilla)
Pillow on top of either a laundry basket or a clothes hamper (Mushroom)

I don't know if there were any others, but this is all I remember.

The stocking cap would either be found either on top of the mushroom or else as the "cow's tail".

Yeah, these were interesting stories and games featured. I'm just glad that I remembered much of this one.

There was another one with Bert and Ernie called "Silly Sandwich" where they both make a giant sandwich with as many silly ingredients as possible, and it ends with Cookie Monster devouring the whole thing!
