You know, I was looking through the magazines at Barnes and Noble the other day and realized I haven't seen Sesame Street magazine in ages! I used to pick up a copy here and there for my little cousin. Does anyone know if it was discontinued, and if so, why?

I can't imagine why they'd discontinue it - I read it as a kid and it was such a fun magazine for kids. What is happening to the Sesame Street I once knew?!!

Sesame Street Magazine is hardly discontinued. I have a subscription to it as we speak and still get issues every month. The thing is, if you want S.S. Magazines, you'll have to look for a special subscription card from "Parenting Magazine" because they own Sesame Street Magazine now. Try that, but let me go ahead and tell you that the magazines are shorter now.

Wow! I had totally forgotten about that magazine until now. I had subscription to it as a kid but I don't remember it very well. It's cool to know they still make it though.

Sesame Workshop out-sourced the magazine to Parenting because it was too expensive to produce. Most people only subscribe to it for a couple years so they had to constantly work for new subscriptions and that's expensive and time consuming. SW still has a lot of editorial control, but you can definitely tell a difference in the quality of the magazine. :frown: Parenting is a pretty cheap subscription, but I'd rather pay more for a better magazine for my kids.

Do you think you guys could post a link where I can sign up for the Parenting/SS magazine offer? I checked the Parenting site, but didn't see any mention of SS magazine being included. I am thinking of ordering a subscription for my aunt - she can have the Parenting mag, and my cousin can get Sesame Street.

I did a Google search on SS mag, but the sites I came up with weren't that great - I'm not sure I trust them. They also made no mention that Parenting magazine is part of the deal.

Any help would be appreciated!
