I guess it would be a good idea to try to shape out what the 40th anniversary to Sesame Street would be like.

Here's how it begins, picture a classic Muppet show opening with :

*Knock on the door and Robin appears*

Robin: Uncle Kermit, Uncle Kermit, 15 seconds til the show begins Uncle Kermit.

Kermit all dress up: Okay Robin, I just need some last mintue adjust to my banjo.

Robin coming in to the dressing room

Robin: Boy, it sure was nice of you to invite all of us to come to the 40th celebration of Sesame Street.

Kermit: Well, it was my pleasure Robin. Besides, next to you, Fozzie and the rest of Muppets , Sesame Street is like another family to me.

Robin: Well how it that Uncle Kermit?

Kermit: Well, I guess you soon find out.

Robin: Hey, Uncle Kermit ? Do you think I can have a part in this show too ?

Kermit: We'll we see Robin, we'll see.

Kermit and Robin exit the dressing room.

We see a clip of Kermit the Frog meeting Don Music as he tries to changes the SS theme song.

This leads into Bob singing the SS theme song with leads to the stage and the big opening number with the entire SS cast except:

Cast: Can you tell me how to get......

Cast pulls back to reveal Big Bird, but end up with no Bird.

Soon Elmo comes in

Elmo: Hold on, everybody. Elmo just received a telegraph from Big Bird.

Elmo give it to Bob read:

Dear gang,

I'll be a little late to the show, but don't worry as I'm safe and sound with our special guest star. Please try to continue on with the show until I arrive.

Sign,
Big Bird

Bob: Well as long as he safe. I guess we could try to get the show on the road.

Then they introduce the title line: Sesame Street 40th anniversary extravagansta with a huge bunches of guest star and your host Kermit the Frog and a special tribute to the guest of honor Big Bird.

Then we cut to commercial.

So what do you all think of it so far ?

The announcer to the show announces Kermit the frog as the host for the evening.

Kermit after the applause: Wasn't that a great opening number folks. Well now that that settle I guess we should get down to business. Tonight, I am proud of hosting to be hosting the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street. You're all in for a reall treat tonight folks, and also for the fans at home as well. Because tonight we're honoring the greatest street on earth, literally. But before we begin the festivites I would like to ask you all a question : Have you ever wonder just how Sesame Street came to be ? Well here to answer that is a very good friend of mine, Ladies and Gentle men Mr. Brian Henson.

Brain Henson along with Joan Ganz Cooney: Thank you Kermit, folks tonight I have with me Miss Joan Ganz Cooney, who together with my father Jim Henson, was able to bring Sesame Street to life.

Joan: Thank you Brian. My so many years, I guess it was only yesterday when I was just wondering for a show that would help educate the children of the US. I guess it all started in 1965 when I was just a young chairwoman of a company called the Children Television Workshop and I was one day wondering of a show that could educate the minds of America. I called up Jim Henson, who was a very talented man and was able to suggest a urban street corner that would benfit my needs.

Brian: It was there that my father started to talk about Sesame Street and it wonderful residents. So Miss Cooney and my father decides to drive up there to give the street a look over.

Joan: Needless to say that I quickly fell in love with the residents of the street as they were all so happy and cheerful, well almost all of them.

Oscar comments: That's right, I hated the idea.

Brian: But Oscar, once you all knew the price of being on television representing the grouches, you instantly jumped at the chance.

Oscar pipes down.

Joan: We started shooting some previews for the public to learn about it before we were able to dubted it on television on Novemeber 10, 1969. Since then, the street grew into the wonderful cast and characters that we see tonight. I'm proud to call them my friends and my family. Thank you Sesame Street for your inspirational guidence and love for all things sunny.

Crowd goes aww and the SS gang tries to Hug Miss Cooney.

Quickly the show cuts to commericals hinting that we would be able to get to know the characters better next.
