Arte Johnson, ‘Laugh-In’ Star, Dies at 90

Arte Johnson, star of 1960s comedy sketch show "Laugh-In," died July 3 in Los Angeles of heart failure. He was 90.

Arte was great on Laugh-In. His German spy character "Veddy Interesting!" showed up in the early days of Sesame Street. Ruth Buzzi would join in several decades later.
With everything going on in 1968- Vietnam, racial tensions, violence, etc. we needed to laugh. Arte and company did just fine.
