I thought many of you would be interested to know. Robert Clark age 65, who was the director of the classic Holiday Film A Christmas Story, was killed in a car wreck along with his 22 year old son Ariel Hanrath Clark today. Mr Clark's movie A Christmas Story will live on in our hearts forever, and continue to be seen each Holiday Season. Thank you Robert for making this wonderful Film, into a Holiday favorite for me and my family. May Robert and his young son rest in peace. :sympathy:

One of my all-time favorite films. It is very sad news, indeed.

This is horrible news. In addition to the classic A Christmas Story, Clark also was responsible for a quartet of groundbreaking horror films, made in the 1970s.

Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things (1972) is a comedy/horror film about a group of young actors who inadvertently bring a corpse back to life. Clark recently said he was planning a remake, either as director or producer.

Dead of Night (1972) is a chilling and sad anti-war movie, based on The Monkey's Paw. A young soldier is killed in Vietnam. When his family receives the bad news, his mother refuses to believe her son is dead. She prays for his return, and he comes back home. At first he appears somewhat normal. Then he begins to exhibit bizarre behavior...

Black Christmas (1974) is often called the first modern slasher film, predating Halloween and Friday the 13th. A sorority house is plagued by bizarre phone calls. People start disappearing. And a mysterious, unseen figure known as "Billy" is hiding in the attic. The film features early appearances by Margot Kidder and Andrea Martin. The film was remade last year.

Murder by Decree (1979) - an atmospheric Sherlock Holmes thriller, with Christopher Plummer and James Mason. Holmes and Watson are called in to investigate the Jack the Ripper murders.

Bob Clark also made the teen comedy Porky's (1982), which had several imitators.

An interesting director who dabbled in different genres. He will be missed.

He and his son were killed due to an alleged drunk driver. It's just awful. You know, so many people want to be able to party and do whatever they want, but other people shouldn't have to suffer for it.

Well, we did have injuries and my mom's car was completly totaled. But we were at a stop light and he had this truck that was more four times the size or out car and he ca,e into the wrong lane on the wrong side of the rode and ran righ into us full speed ahead and out car went up in the air side ways and we wamed back down into the middle of the street. but we had to go to the hospital, and then we had to walk four miles back home in the middle of the night and ny non had trouble walking. The police station was closed and they took about an hour getting to us. But the guy who ran into us came up to out car after he did what we did and told us how it was out falut. But the poliece told us about the alcohol under his breat and the he was being charged with a DUI. And we could not get in touch at home at all. But a lady who witnessed it called for help for us, if she did not see us we would have been left there in the middle of the street. But that's whay I'm am so highly so aginst drunk driving. I just do not toerate it at all.
