There are a number of episodes we've found on the Wiki where the plotline is pretty much re-shot from an earlier script.

Your example seems to be one where it's a similar idea, but not a direct remake.

In the mid-2000s, it was starting to become a once a season thing where a chicken would mistake Rocco for an egg and try to hatch it.

There was another plot that was significantly but not completely remade. They did a rehash of the plot that involves a story featuring the numbers 1 through 10. In both episodes, there was one segment for each number, but the featured letters were different on each episode (D and H were on the original plot, and tge latter featured just Y).

Gina was so attractive that I can't blame Elmo for falling in love with her twice.
AMEN TO THAT! Not to mention that a few SS characters have had crushes on Maria: the Count, Placido Flamingo, and even Stinky.

Back on track, there was a repeated plot in episodes 954 and 2720. It's the one where Oscar's brother Ernest visits, and they try to outdo one another with kind acts as a sort of retaliation.

Muppet Wiki doesn't use the term "stalks" because it gives the implication that the Count is doing something that would be against the law in real life, and Muppet Wiki doesn't want to send the wrong message. I'm siding with whoever added the word "chases" to that Muppet Wiki page, but stalking is what it is implied that The Count was doing. I wonder if The Count developed an obsessive crush on Maria by that point?

The street scenes were limited to just three, with the first scene happening so late in the show. Maria also references "Counting Toes" (airing early in 1986) in the first scene, and I think that song was a telltale sign that The Count was starting to develop an obsessive crush on Maria. It sounds like Sesame Street was becoming more and more creepy as the 1980s dragged on.
