Muppet Wiki doesn't use the term "stalks" because it gives the implication that the Count is doing something that would be against the law in real life, and Muppet Wiki doesn't want to send the wrong message. I'm siding with whoever added the word "chases" to that Muppet Wiki page, but stalking is what it is implied that The Count was doing. I wonder if The Count developed an obsessive crush on Maria by that point?
The street scenes were limited to just three, with the first scene happening so late in the show. Maria also references "Counting Toes" (airing early in 1986) in the first scene, and I think that song was a telltale sign that The Count was starting to develop an obsessive crush on Maria. It sounds like Sesame Street was becoming more and more creepy as the 1980s dragged on.
