Hi,
I am trying to remember a song that was in a segment on Sesame Street that was shown frequently in the mid to late 80's as well as in the early 90's.

The segement was filmed (looked to be filmed by an 8mm camera) and edited with kids running in a playground, swinging on swings, & playing on merry-go-rounds and see-saws(teeter-totters). I think it started with 2 kids crossing a narrow walkway bridge over water (but am not sure about the bridge if it was the same segment). Some of the children in the playground were singing.

To what I remember, the chours went something like:

"We're all playing with the same boys, the same girls, the same toys. We're all playing with the same games. So why..." (can't remember the end of how it went). The verse went something like: "My name's..." (and the boy or girl sining would say his or her name and talk about his or her friend or family)." It would then go back to the above chorus.

I last remember hearing this when I was around 9 years old. Roughly 10+ years ago.

If anyone could help me find this song in either MP3, WAV, or on a Sesame Street CD, I would be greatly appreciative. If someone could also help find the video segment of this I would be even more greatful.

Thanks in advance for looking at this and all your help.

Respectfully,
Zeozord

Could this be it? A song called, "My Name is You." The chorus lines you might remember are, "We all sing with the same voice" and "we sing in harmony".

If so, I think on the video "Sing Along".

Thanks! I think that may be the song that I was thinking of.

After looking up the lyrics of that song on a search engine, I found it to be called "We All Sing With The Same Voice" and yes it is on the Sing Along video. :excited:

Just curious  was the song ever put on a CD because I would love to listen to it anytime I want to (like in the car) not just when I watch the video (which I just may buy for that song).

If not is there a "legal" way of obtaining that song (well a copy of it).

Unfortunately, I couldn't help with that. Maybe someone more knowledgeable about the audio recordings could shed some light. Phil, perhaps?

I LOVE that song! (As my signiture shows). It's my absolute favorite non-muppet SS song.

And I'm so glad to know that's on the Sing Along video. Thanks for the info!
