It's just passed 3 30AM, and I can't sleep. Today is Father's day, a day in which for so long I have hated. I lost my dad when I was 13 years old, and it was one of the saddest things to happen to me. Every father's day I think of him, and all the laugihter we shared. There are times when i will think or say a joke or see a show or cartoon that we use to watch, and think he is still here with me, but deep down knowing he is not. I just wish I could have told him that i loved him just one more time, or hugged him one last time.
He was such a great man he fought for not only this country but he also fought as a police officer for the very town I was born and raised in, and now the town where I am trying to start a family.
Sometimes I think and pray for just one more day. For him to come back for one day and say "Son I'm proud of you" and then some how fix any problems that i have in my life.
This is how i feel I love my Dad and miss him. I just needed to let it out.

Go ahead, let it out. Father's Day isn't a super-terrific day for my family either as ours left us.

Dwaynee, you are such an awesome person here and such an inspiration and I am sure that so much of that is from your dad. He sounds like a hero. It's always important to find the time to remember people and things, and to look at what they've done and how they shaped you.

*hugs*

((((Dwayne)))you have EVERY right to let it out! I lost my dad only 4 years ago & I've hated Father's Day ever since then. Seeing Fathers' Day commercials makes me want to scream! So I know how you feel. I'm sure your dad's looking down on you & saying how proud he is of you. When you meet again,I'm sure he'll take you in his arms.

I know what you mean. We belonged to a church that would have all the young people write letters or whatever to there fathers, and would go up in front of the church and read the letters out loud to everyone. Me and my brother really never thought we would have to go up and read or say anything because our dad wasn't with us. When that day came we WHERE called up and had to make something up as we went. It was so emmbaressing to stand there and hear all these other kids talk about how wonderful it was to have a dad always around, and then here come me and my brother with nothing. I have grown to hate Fathers day because of that. Even now being a step father and a soon to be father i can't stand the thought of fathers day.
