 I enjoy a good running gag as much as the next Muppet fan. I have also helped fuel them at times. Lately threads are being overly muffined. It would be fine if it were occurring on uninteresting or dead threads, but please, my fellow MC members, don't spam the vital ones.

There's enough cool Muppet news these days, but today I've hit nothing but muffins. It's like continually hitting one red light after another.

One way to solve this is to at least add something to the discussion along side silly off-topic muffiny goodness and/or add a link to an external thread. A random muffin response is fine, but when several responses in a row are off topic muffins it can get irritating to those who think there's been something interesting added to a particular threads discussion only to find a muffin.

 Thanks

:embarrassed: (Has a feeling this thread will be muffined.)

Yes, I (seriously) do agree. Sorry Beau & Prawn (and all your...ahem..ILK) but the Penguin classes and I are growing weary of random 17-year old prawns running into your face nude....I REALLY don't want to see that...okay?

It was a good larf, but it's getting kinda old, mates.

*fires musket in good health*
*kills Prawn*
OH CRAP!
*runs away*

But I DO support the cause and I DO think that punctuation should be fully restored, I simply disagree with the propaganda-esque method utilized here.

Hi Jamie,

You make a good point. And usually I would agree with you re Muffining, that I love muffining in more or less the right places at the right times.

However, this muffining is directly related to an issue which we've tried bringing up various times in various ways and it's not being taken seriously, so it was a specific decision taken to muffin the main threads in order to get our cause noticed by people who might not read 'muffiny' threads.

We've been trying for a long time now (ever since they were taken away, in fact) to get multiple !'s and ?'s back, or at least tripple !'s and ?'s because we honestly do feel they add something to conversations, humour, comedy, and general expressiveness.

I do apologuise for today's Muffining, but I did feel that it was necessary and did specifically target threads that I wouldn't usualy muffin within.

We've tried many other ways to get the attention of currant Mods, but we've not been taken seriously...sortta thought this might help.

Sorry to people we're disrupted.

Beau

*shakes head* You're very right Jamie, but I also agree with Beau. Though, apparently, I'm dead. :stick_out_tongue: I agree that things should be calmed down, sorry, but I also would really like to see the punctuation back.

Thank you, Jamie. I'm as guilty as anyone else but I know how it feels to be just turned off by muffining. It's especially bad in info threads when people ask specific questions and find 3 pages with no answer. But today I posted in the "I did something stupid today" thread, I check back and there's a whole extra page, and most of the posts totally ignored what I said and didn't have anything to do with the thread. It's disappointing when you're trying to share with people and they ignore it. (That being said, thanks who read my post  )

Hi... As your fiendly, erm friendly neighborhood moderator, I would ask the following...
Please contain the punctuation muffining to the thread already created for that in the Feedback section.
Also, please help if you spot any sightings of this Bo streaking through threads in a silk robe, or his Prawny accomplice. We're doing our best to sort the situation.

Thank you and have a good night.

Count, that's terrible. Don't put an APB out on them for having fun. Jamie already asked them to tone it down and they're obviously gotten the message based on their very nice replies to this thread.

Edit: Also, Jamie had enough dignity not to call them out by name...

Hi... I'm not chiding them for having fun. The thing is, that as Jamie pointed out, it sort of backfired as it caused mass annoyance to the rest of the regular members reading and interacting. Just trying to clean up the mess is all. Besides, there's still the Punctuation thread to have fun. So I invite you all to head on over there and toss the ol' period around.

Beaus do it...Prawns do it...even agitated Frogboys do it

 We all muffin and I don't see much problem with it. I was just seeing if we could keep things in check. I'd never want to rid MC of something so Muppety as funky random comments.

Honestly I didn't particularly mean Beau and Prawn. Maybe they've had a higher count today, but that's not all of the muffining going all on recently. If it had only been one or two members I'd have just messaged them privately.

:coy: There's been so much news on the Muppet movie, Fraggle movie, Muppet DVD and other Muppety fronts that it seemed weird to hit so many muffins. Muffins are necessary in keeping the forum afloat in lean tumbleweed times.

:hungry: We always have some muffins here and there on the forum and I think we always should. I was not trying to rid MC of the tasty delicious muffin. I was just going into a diabetic coma.
