REALLY old and obscure Muppet reference

I remember a televison variety show probably very early 1970's that had Jack Benny and George Burns dressed up as Ernie & Bert, complete with big foam heads just showing their faces.

I know..it sounds like I'm nuts, but it was so wierd at the time, that's why I (barely) remember it.

Anyone else see it?
