Kermit as Santa Claus...or maybe that should be "Santa Kermit" or maybe "Froggy Claus".

There were others, like the motorcycle riders ("get off the track, Jack"), the rabbits and the Barbie-like doll, but I don't know their names.

Don't have it on DVD. Rather, my supplier, Justin Faulknor, got it and burned a copy of it onto VCD for my collection. As soon as someone helps me out with the credits, I'll help you guys and gals wondering about the name of the Barbie-like doll, and I'll also add the whole cast to my listings.

Does anyone know whether or not "A Muppet Family Christmas" as presents in this R2 double feature, is a more complete version than the current R1 release and also whether the audio/video transfer, etc. is superior or not?

Also, I've heard rumors that it is presented in a widescreen a.r. - is that possible considering it was originally adapted for t.v.? Is there any truth to this?

Finally, are there any plans for "The Christmas Toy" to eventually be released to R1 DVD as well, or is this a likely possibility?

The Christmas toy are on as a extra on the R2 DVD. Muppet Family Christmas has not been cut as much as the US release. It's only missing the Treelightning scene and the stocking scene. It's the same version that were released on VHS in the UK.
I don't know about it being in widescreen or not. But I think you might be mixing it up with "It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie" it's released in widescreen in europe.
And finally the last question about a US release there's just one thing to say about that. Time will tell.

Looks like I'm springing for the R2 edition than! I'll probably pick up both versions and just swap the discs because I like the cover art on the R1 release better...
