After finding out on Muppet Wiki a few days ago about Herbie Hancock's segment about making sound effects with his keyboard, it stated that he played an electronic music version of the show's theme.

After seeing the segment within an hour or two ago, I heard nothing in terms of the theme to Sesame Street being played. Still, it was an interesting eight and a half minutes. I particularly liked Herbie Hancock's song and music video for "Rock It" - which was the big winner at the first ever MTV Video Music Awards in 1984, as mentioned by Shadoe Stevens on American Top 40 in the early 1990s.

Also, Tatyana Ali in the segment was the future actress on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Didn't Tatyana Ali appear in other segments on Sesame Street?

Yes, Tatyana Ali appeared on the show quite a bit in segments, and in several street stories. An episode that comes to mind is episode 2715, where her and Ruby pretend to be grown-ups.
