Question about trading store bought home videos

I was wondering what the consensus was about copying and trading Muppet videos that have been store bought. I have been staying away from copying my collection of purchased Muppet videos because of potential copyright infringement, and I have only been trading videos that I actually taped from television airings.

What are peoples' general policies on this?

I don't think its legal but provided you don't go selling them you should be ok. Its probably not a good idea to be trading copied Videos or DVDs that can still be purchased easily, not only because its illegal but because its making the henson company lose out in the long run.

Thanks. That helps. I do have a lot of stuff on video that you can't get anymore, so perhaps I'll add those to my trade list making them available to people who amy desire them.
