Question about the Demise of the Closing Signs

It was apparent that, starting at the beginning of Season 15, the closing signs were done away with, and the CTW logo was given a makeover. The new format had the show's logo followed by the new CTW logo in chyron text, over a still image from a street scene or live-action sketch aired during that day's episode. That changed, in March 1984, to the show's logo - in the traditional green and yellow background color scheme - flipping in, followed by each of the words in the CTW logo zooming in from the left or right one by one while the street scene was still in action.

Regarding the demise of the Season 1 to 14 closing signs in Season 15, was this due to Mr. Hooper appearing in some of the still photos, and they scrapped the still photos because of the death of Mr. Hooper?

They wanted to show off their new, shiny logo, I suppose.
