I've noticed that many sites that have the Shalom Sesame videos listed mention that :stick_out_tongue: and :frown: seem to appear in new footage in some of the earlier Shalom Sesame videos. Did Jim and Frank really go to Israel and film new material, because I know Carroll shot new footage of Oscar on the Rechov Sumsum set, so did E&B appear in the first wave in that same way?

From my fuzzy recallection, I don't think any US Muppets other than probably Oscar had any new footage filmed for the special. The only other appearances of US Muppets were in the opening episode, shot on the US set (Unless Itzak Perlman was their alone). Other than that everything was just dubbed old footage.
