This one I recall from my childhood days.I remember it being a Kermit The Frog NewsFlash, with Kermit on the lookout for a merry man. However, someone told me that it was Ernie looking for a merry man,not Kermit.I guess that means it wasn't a NewsFlash.Anyway,if anyone remembers, the first muppet we see is a male anything muppet who was mad.Therefor he was no merry man. Then a smaller muppet was crying because he lost his sandwich in the river. Not a merry man. Finally Harvey Kneeslapper appears. At first Ernie or Kermit thinks he finally found a merry man.But in typical Harvey Kneeslapper fashion, all Harvey does is tell corny jokes and laugh himself hysterical.Causing Kermit or Ernie to decide that he's not a merry man after all.

As you may very well have guessed,my question would be,was it Kermit or Ernie looking for a merry man? :stick_out_tongue:

Ditto.

And it was a good sketch too. Haven't thought of that one in a while!

What we need here is a clip of this skit or even a picture to confirm one or the other....!

I may not have any tangible proof beyond my own memory, but it was Ernie, dressed up as Robin Hood, looking for someone to join his band of Merry Men.

Yes, the first applicant was bawling his eyes out because he dropped his sandwich in the river, and was not having a good day. Next!

The second candidate looked like Sherlock Hemlock with a bad attitude. Somehow he got splashed with water, which got his tunic all wet, and he's alittle too disgruntled to cut it as a merry man. Next!

Harvey Kneeslapper certainly has the right spirit, and was hired, until Ernie got too much of him pulling jokes straight out of Henny Youngman's mouth.

"I really wanted to be a baker, but I couldn't raise the dough!"
"Take my wife, PLEASE!"

Too bad, Ernie. Better luck next time.:stick_out_tongue:
