Hey all,

I was just curious if anyone has clear pictures of any recent puppets they have built using the "New Antron Fleece"? If anyone does could they please posts them in this thead?

I have a bunch of the old stuff, but I am curious about the look that is achieved with the new stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and if you have used the 12 oz and the 14 oz please share both. I would love to see the two different weights used as well.

The "new antron" was used in both puppets below.

It's not as nice as the old antron, but you can still get decent seam coverage. I'm working on another character, a witch, who's head is completely covered in antron, plus she's bald. No room for cover-ups! I'll post pictures when she's finished.
Very cool! I didn't even realize it was the new stuff; which says a lot in itself. I am assuming it is the 12 oz fleece? Have you used the 14 oz, and if how did you find using it compared to the 12 oz?

The new fleece is better than the old antron; it's more like the old Muppet look! It also has a better stretch to it for more coverage! Seems as though it doesn't have that sparkle look that you'd get with the other stuff.
I would seeem that way, which I like too. I have a sample of the fleece, but I would really love to see it in all of its puppet goodness. Any pictures of it in action? I would love to see a puppet you've done with it.

i personally think it is to stretchy , the pile is not as full, and i liked the old sparkle you got with the previous stuff,

the stretch is a real issue if you are recreating a older pattern, i found it made things a little smaller it clings to close to the foam size, so if you do a side by side comparison between the old puppet and new you will see a bit of shrinkage. , so eye placement may not be the same,.

this size thing is mainly do to the pile not being as supstantial.

while it may not seem like much ,the shorter pile does take away some bulk all the way around making a puppet seem a wee bit smaller than a previous version.

i really misss the old stuff, but it is what we have to deal with for now.

Thanks for the input ravagefrackle. It would seem that the 14 oz is closer to the original fleece then. I like the old stuff too, I made sure to get some before they sold out.

Nicepuppets wes! Thanks for the pictures. How do you find the fleece at hiding seams? Do you feel it has too much of a stretch to the fabric like some others do?

I haven't done much with the new stuff yet, but I agree with most of Ravagefrackle's comments about the stretch on the new Antron. I haven't encountered the patterning problem myself (yet) but the pile doesn't seem as thick and it seems to be little more challenging to disguise seams. I am sure there are work-arounds for any problem though.

Personally, I like the fact that the new stuff isn't sparkly, but that's just a matter of preference.

Hey Blink, believe it or not, that is the 14 oz! Not as thick as the old stuff...

for the most part you will not find antron fleece at a regular craft/fabric store, although on rare occasions they do get a few small end run pieces,

you can order it from Georgia stage , kathy from theier post on here on occasion .
